L'HYDROPTERE.CH
The result of collaboration between L'Hydroptère team and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) from 2005 to 2012, and built by Swiss shipyard Décision SA, L'Hydroptère.ch is a 41-foot experimental hydrofoil catamaran. Launched in 2010, she has set all speed records on Lake Geneva and Lake Zurich.
L'HYDROPTÈRE.CH's TECHNICAL SPECS
L'Hydroptère.ch is a real flying laboratory, with a host of innovations on board, including foils mounted on ball-and-socket joints capable of highly precise adjustments, variable-ratio stepped floats and an air-injection system under the bow. L'Hydroptère.ch is capable of sailing at 2.7 times wind speed.
The project of her construction was actively supported by the bank Lombard Odier, thanks to Thierry Lombard and his son Adrien, as well as the prestigious watchmaking house Audemars Piguet.
In 2014, she set the 3 most prestigious speed records on Lake Geneva: the Ruban Bleu (round-trip crossing), which she held for 9 years, and the hour and kilometer records. In July 2022, L'Hydroptère.ch joined L'HYDROPTERE 2.0 alongside her big brother L'Hydroptère, reunited for the first time, to resume her life as a flying laboratory and carry out experiments. L'Hydroptère.ch beats the Blue Ribbon record L'Hydroptère.ch at the Bosphorus Cup
